Community Service Day

Every year since 1984, Windermere associates and staff have dedicated a day away from work to complete neighborhood improvement projects. This annual Community Service Day takes place on the third Friday in June and gives us an opportunity to give back to the communities where we live and work. After all, real estate is rooted in our communities, and an investment in our neighborhoods gives us all a better place to call home. This year on June 17, Windermere offices throughout the western states collectively donated more than 55,000 hours of service to causes in the neighborhoods they serve. At Windermere/West, LLC, we were especially pleased to dedicate the 2011 Community Service Day to the Oregon Food Bank, where we delivered a quarter-ton of food collected from clients and spent the afternoon sorting & packaging foodstuffs for delivery to those in need. At the same time, we were honored to support three local organizations with Windermere Foundation funds: The Hillsboro Family Resource Center, The Forest Grove Family Resource Center, and the Pantry at Rock Creek. Whenever a Windermere West client buys or sells a home, the broker handling the transaction makes a contribution to the Windermere Foundation – It’s amazing to see how those contributions add up to make a difference in the lives of those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Thanks to our team for their hard work on Community Service Day, to our partners in Washington County who dedicate tireless efforts to helping the less fortunate, and most of all to our clients, whose decision to work with a Windermere Broker enables us to fund and facilitate these efforts.
